The market has settled. A single connection billed monthly sits at $10 to $15. The same connection on a twelve-month term lands between $8 and $10 a month. Plans covering two to five devices run $25 to $45 a month. Against an average US cable bill that crossed $127 a month this year, even the most expensive plan on this page is a tenth of the cost.
Below roughly $5 a month, the arithmetic stops working. Servers, bandwidth and support all cost money; a service charging $3 is either overselling capacity onto a shared panel or planning a short life. The savings evaporate the first evening the streams stack up.

Monthly pricing converged — every one of the eight brands we hold verified figures for now charges exactly $15 for a single connection billed monthly, so the monthly rate has stopped being a way to tell services apart. The annual rate did the same at the bottom: five of the eight sell twelve months for $100.
Second, the connection ladder split into two models. Some services add roughly $10 for each extra simultaneous stream; others add $5. On a six-device household over a year, that difference is larger than the gap between the cheapest and most expensive annual plan on this page.
Third, the trial became the differentiator. A 24-hour trial with no card is now standard among serious operators, which means a provider asking for card details before a trial is telling you something about how it expects to make money.
